Tuesday Write #5
There are many factors that hold a civilization together. The first and most important factor is leadership. Without leadership, everything would fall apart. The leader has to be well respected and elected for people to want to follow what the leader says. Having a dictatorship does not work because people will ultimately always end up rebelling. I believe morality falls into the category of strong leadership. Even if people don’t have morals, if the government and rulers are strong and fair then the people doing wrong will be punished. Even better, if the rules are fair, the majority of people will obey. Economy also falls into leadership. I don't think a class system is necessarily bad because it is impossible for everyone to be equal no matter how great that sounds. Stronger nations with strong leadership are less likely to be poverty ridden.
In Lord of the Flies, society fell apart because of leadership. As stated above, leadership is the most important factor of holding a society together. The leadership was unfair and the children rebelled because of that. If there is no leadership, then war is inevitable because people start to believe they can do whatever they want with no consequences.
